From one who knows

The food at Schimschaks has always been excellent. I should know! I was a chef there in the 80's and we always made sure the customer received the best quality products. I have also been a customer there and the quality is still the best. The waiting staff is warm and friendly, the view is spectacular, and the story of Joe DiMagio proposing to Marilyn Monroe there makes it extra special!

Famous friends

ANyplace that features the mayor of Munchkinland and Dimmagio and Marilyn is good enough for me.....add to the fact it was featured on the Food channel (where I was reminded of it), reasonable prices, and its proxsimity to the "honeymoon capital", it works for me....

The best of Buffalo's 5 stars

Posted by hack875 on 8/26/2002

Buffalo only has a few five star restraurants, and they ALL have something going for them besides just great food (they have to in order to BE a 5 star). Schimschack's has it's ambience. A tiered dining area where there isn't a bad seat in the house to look out over the escarpment onto the lights of Toronto With candle lit tables the setting can't be beat for that romantic dinner. The food it just so fabulous and the service can't be beat. If you love French onion soup, you HAVE to get a bowl here. The best I have ever had...
